Commiserations to our U21 panel on yesterday’s defeat in Warrenpoint. This was the semi-final of the championship and the lads came through a great run of winning through the league stages and met a very evenly matched Warrenpoint side. Carryduff went in at half time 2 points down with scores from Beattie, Guinness and McKeever. Warrenpoint came out the strongest after the break scoring 1-03 with no answer from Carryduff until Ronan Beattie put one over the bar from play followed on by a goal within 40 seconds after Warrenpoint’s keeper took a poor kick out. This left Carryduff still trailing by 4 points. Carryduff went on to score 3 points, 2 from play by Sean McGonigal and Seamus McCann and a 45 placed beautifully by Sean McGonigal. Unfortunately Carryduff just rallied too late as Warrenpoint scored in the last minute of the game leaving the full time score 1-13 to 1-11. Firstly, thanks to the supporters that travelled and most of all thanks to the commitment from all players and mentors over the season
