Our Culture Committee invites you to join us for a virtual seminar – exploring “The Poetry of Our Place”.
During this unusual time, many of us have turned to the transformative power of poetry for comfort, solace, empathy or simply to escape momentarily from our reality.
Margaret McCann will deliver a seminar entitled “The Poetry of Our Place” on:
Tuesday 16th February at 7:30 pm via Zoom.
This talk will introduce the theme of the poetry of place. It will examine how a range of Irish poets explore and try to make sense of the connection between people and their places. It will touch on the poetry of a range of poets like W.B. Yeats, Patrick Kavanagh, Seamus Heaney, Eavan Boland and Jean Bleakley.
