As you may be aware our annual tournament is rapidly approaching. Following on from the success of our Tournament Weekend last year, the Club will be running four tournaments over two consecutive weekends:
Saturday 8th June
10.00am The Peter Cassidy Memorial u10.5 Boys Football Tournament
3.00pm The Carryduff u12 Girls Football Tournament.
Saturday 22nd June
10.00am The Joe Beattie Memorial u8.5 Boys Football Tournament
3.00pm The Terry Lawlor Memorial u12 Boys Football Tournament
Over the two weekends, there will be somewhere in the region of 1300 kids playing football at our pitches. Not only are these tremendous events for the children, but they are spectacular to witness and are a fantastic showcase for our Club. However, as you can appreciate, 1300 kids take a lot of organising, and that is where we need your help. There has been a lot of work put in already by the Tournament Sub-Committee. Everything is in place for the weekends, but we need assistance on the day to ensure that the events run smoothly and our visiting clubs experience the Carryduff hospitality that the Club is renowned for. Visiting clubs to previous tournaments, and to the recent Feile at the end of June have always been extremely complimentary and we want that to continue.
There is a range of roles that we need filled, from medical cover, carpark attendants, to help in the hub, to pitch & dressing room preparation on the evening before. The intention is that parents are not expected to volunteer at the tournament where they have a son or daughter playing. However, to achieve this and to allow other parents to be able to watch their kids represent Carryduff GAC, so we would encourage you to make yourself available to help at one of the other slots. Even if you can only do part of a tournament, or the night before, we will certainly be able to find a role for you.
