We have been notified of a confirmed COVID case at Carryduff GAC and the Public Health Agency (PHA) have been in contact to advise us of the next steps.

The PHA have carried out an assessment of the player’s movements in the previous days and have made a decision as to who should be considered a close contact or a casual contact in a GAA context. They have not identified any other players or coaches within the Carryduff team participating in the game as a close contact. All Carryduff players/coaches are deemed casual contacts.

GAA have issued guidelines on close or casual contacts  https://learning.gaa.ie/sites/default/files/Dealing%20with%20positive%20cases.pdf

We would ask everyone to continue to follow the advice of PHA:

  • If you go outside stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
  • Avoid touching your face and wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms

Finally, we wish our member a speedy recovery and hopefully they are back at the club soon
