ASK TWICE !!
It’s OK not to be OK
Time to change.
9/10 young people tell friends and family they are “fine” when struggling with mental health problems.
In our community, mental health is a vital aspect of overall well-being, yet many individuals hesitate to discuss their struggles. The “Ask Twice” initiative encourages us to move beyond the customary “I’m fine” response by asking, “How are you?” a second time, demonstrating genuine concern and opening the door for honest conversations.
For young people aged 13 to 25 in Belfast, the Lighthouse Charity offers the “Ask Twice” Youth Intervention Service. This program provides mentoring, group work, and well-being workshops, all delivered by qualified professionals in various youth settings. These services create safe spaces for young individuals to express their feelings and access the support they need.
By embracing the “Ask Twice” approach and utilizing available resources, we can foster a more supportive environment, ensuring that no one feels alone in their mental health journey.
