Carryduff was well represented by 2 teams who travelled to the East coast on a cold morning to play against Aughlisnafin and Kilclief in a blitz hosted by Ardglass GAC. The boys made a sluggish start in the first set of games but soon came to life with strong performances from Joseph Kerr and Niall McReynolds. Many of the p3 boys grew into the games as they begin to find their way at this level with brave efforts from Nathan Sergeant and Shay Spillane. In the second set of games our boys did very well against a physically and technically strong Kilclief side with Conall Vaugh and Senan McQuillan combining well in attack. The final games saw Carryduff up against Auglisnafin and by this stage our boys were really hitting their stride. Excellent kick outs from young Dara Murphy and Kian Dougan allowed Tom Hickson to dominate at midfield and take some superb scores with excellent support play from Alexander Caldwell and Sean Teague who both turned over a lot of ball. Other commendable performances included great defensive performances from Aodhan O’Neill and Michael Boyle who marshalled the back line well as the morning wore on.
