Under 15 Ladies Secure League and Feile Double

Congratulations to our U15 Ladies, who’ve recently added the Section A League Title to the Feile Championship which they won back in August.

This talented bunch now push on in Championship competition looking to secure progression in Section B and with the Section A team already gaining a semi-final spot after receiving a Bye in the quarter-final draw.

Section A League Winners

The League campaign saw an impressive 9 wins out of 10 with 1 loss all season in a strong league including Burren, Bredagh, Clonduff, Saval and RGU.

Anyone who has watched this team in action throughout the season could only be impressed by their skill, work rate, and commitment. Well done to all of the players and management, including those from U13 teams who supported throughout the season.

We had the pleasure of a visit from Francis Rogan, county secretary of Down LGFA for the purposes of presenting the league trophy for Section A to the girls.

The trophy was collected by Ciara McLornan who was captain for our last league game and has been a leader throughout the last couple of seasons but all of the girls will have enjoyed lifting the league and Feile trophies, getting their picture for the mantlepiece.

Francis congratulated the girls on a great season and Carryduff Ladies Chairperson Colette Spillane added her congratulations, noting that the future was bright with so many of the girls pushing towards senior level over the next few seasons.

Feile Win

This year’s Feile was contested at Bryansford and Castlewellan, with the girls overcoming opposition from Warrenpoint, Castlewellan, Burren and Clann na Banna in the league before Semi-Finals against Bredagh and Finals vs Saval. A fantastic experience for the girls and the strong contingent of family and supporters who made the trip.

Once again, congrats and well-done girls, we are immensely proud of all of you. Onwards now as they prepare for the first round of the championship this weekend. Good luck girls.
