Super Sunday County Day

Carryduff GAC was awash with colour this morning. Fourteen teams proudly represented their respective counties, including Down, Antrim, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Derry, Dublin, Kildare, Armagh, Cork, Donegal, Longford, Wexford and Kilkenny. The coaches and players were gathered together to celebrate the diverse counties that are represented in the under 7.5 hurling and camogie group. In an exciting build up to the games, the players paraded onto the pitch accompanied by their team mascots, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.

The games were competitive and fun, and it was a joy to see the young athletes give their all on the field. Their passion for hurling was evident, and they displayed great sportsmanship throughout the morning. It was wonderful to witness their enjoyment and enthusiasm for the game.

Following the matches, a tug of war competition took place between the kids and the coaches. Despite their best efforts, the coaches were outmatched by the energetic and determined children.

The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the teams, and tea and buns in the hub afterwards were much appreciated. It was heart-warming to see the smiles, and hear the post-match chats amongst players and supporters over a warm cuppa. Many thanks to all who helped out with the refreshments.

We also warmly welcome the four new players who came along today.  It was lovely to see them thoroughly enjoy their introduction to hurling and camogie and they didn’t hesitate to join the action.

The “Super Sunday” event was a great success. Our young players showcased their skills, whilst enjoying friendly competition.  It’s inspiring to witness such a vibrant and passionate community of hurling enthusiasts at such a young age. Here’s to many more enjoyable and memorable hurling adventures!

Well done to all of the young hurlers and camogs, and likewise their coaches.
