East Down Blitz – 10.5 Boys Football

The enthusiastic and energetic spirit of the Under 10.5 boys shone through the grey and damp Saturday morning as the squad headed to Teconnaught for the 3rd East Down Blitz of the year.

While the slippery and wet conditions added an extra challenge the skill and determination of the Carryduff boys could not be questioned. Carryduff’s excellent defensive play was typified by Sean Strathern and Dara Watson who played with resilience as they battled for every ball. Matches against the host as well as Drumaness, Loughinisland and Castlewellan were very competitive and Carryduff’s play was consistently brilliant throughout.

All the boys played their best and contributed to each game.  Despite the difficult pitch conditions, Patrick Hyland’s ball handling skills were a joy to watch and JP Hegarty was always on hand to put over some magnificent scores.

With every blitz and tournament, the boys are gaining vital match experience and it is encouraging to see each and every one of the boys developing their football skills – keep it up boys!!
