Under 8’s Take on Local Rivals Bredagh at Cherryvale
Under 8’s Take on Local Rivals Bredagh at Cherryvale
On Friday evening, our under eight girls took the short trip to Cherryvale to take on old rivals Bredagh. With a panel of 21 we fielded two evenly matched teams, the Ogs and the Gaels. Captains for the evenings were Blanaid and Evie.

There was a great turn out and support from parents who took to the touch lines to cheer on the girls. Positions were filled and the refs made the throw ins in 2 simultaneous games. The games were made up of 3 10 minute periods, with 2 full matches played by all girls with real determination. The supporters were treated to some great shooting, tackles, blocks from all, a great off the line save from Caitriona. The posts took a battering with Evie in particular seeing some great efforts come back off the woodwork. There were some superb goals, a great one from Evie who missed the post this time! A number of girls took points well. Both Carryduff teams played well and won their matches. The teams lined up for the traditional handshake and all 21 girls went home with a smile on their faces having had a lot of fun with real team spirit.
