U8 Girls had a busy weekend !!

Our u8 girls had a very busy weekend just passed as they took part in two separate tournaments. On Saturday they travelled to Cookstown Fr Rocks for the McCracken/McElwee Tournament. The girls played magnificently against some very tough Tyrone and Derry opposition, eventually bowing out to Ballinascreen.

Then on Sunday the girls travelled to Dromintee GAC for the Owen Rocks Tournament. Once again, the girls played brilliantly when facing tough opposition from Armagh and Dublin in the group stages and were unlucky to lose out by 1 point to Silverbridge in the Shield Quarter Final after a titanic tussle.

Thanks to all coaches and supporters who gave the girls such great encouragement over the weekend and to the two host clubs, Cookstown and Dromintee for putting on such well-run and enjoyable tournaments.

Over the course of the two days, 22 girls from our panel got to experience the thrill of participating in a big tournament atmosphere, which I’m sure will stand to them in the years to come. They all performed brilliantly over the course of the weekend and were a credit to themselves and their club.
