The Carryduff U14 hurlers took part in the Down Feile today reaching the division 2 final in harsh conditions in Portaferry. The first game was against Ballyvarley where we came out winners at a scoreline of 3.2 to 1.3 Our next game against Warrenpoint was a very close affair with a goal scored in nearly the last strike of the game to seal victory on a scoreline of 2.1 to 1.1

We then faced a good Ballycran team and were beaten well in the first half with Ballycran leading by 5.2 to 0.0 at half time. We then kept Ballycran to a single point in the second half but did not mange to register ourselves but had many good opportunities.

Our last group game was against Kilclief and this victory saw us in the final again against Ballcran.

The lads put in a great performance in the final but it was not to be on the day with Ballycran winning on a scoreline of 3.3 to 2.3.

The team should be very proud of the commitment and effort shown today and will hopefully bode well for the rest of the Season. A special Thank you to all of the U12s that took part today who did not look out of place at any time.

Well done to Portaferry for hosting the event in very tough conditions. Great job
