Carryduff U10 Girls – Dromintee Tournament – Sunday 25th August

Our U10 girls travelled to Dromintee GAC on Sunday for their second competitive tournament of the year. We brought a panel of 16 players to the tournament. 20 teams took part. Our girls were drawn in Group 4 along with Dromintee, Clan Na Gael, Carrickcruppin and Raheny. The girls finished top of Group 4 having won all of their games and qualified for the Cup quarter final. We played Pearse Ogs from Armagh in the quarter final. After an earlier defeat in the year at Croke Park and a very competitive 1st half, our girls scored some great points in the 2nd half to win through to a semi final meeting with Clan Eireann. Unfortunately, on the day Clan Eireann were the stronger team and went on to win the Cup. Although our girls were disappointed at the end, again, they have certainly proven they are a force to be reckoned with in Ulster and Ireland! As coaches and mentors, we could have asked for no more of he girls who put everything into their play on the day in very hot conditions. All of this experience will stand to this young group of ladies in the futue. The club are proud of everyone of them for all their efforts. A big thank to Dromintee for hosting the tournament and to everyone who came out to cheer the girls on.
